CAD Objectives

  • Defend our rights as first class citizens.

  • Preserve American Sign Language (ASL) as its natural language and promote the inclusion of ASL as part of a bilingual approach in homes, schools, and communities, serving infants to post-secondary students with hearing loss.

  • Advocate for all CT Deaf and Hard of Hearing individuals, regardless of age, in securing appropriate and accessible services.

  • Promote leadership and training opportunities for Deaf and Hard of Hearing youths through the Jr. CAD, Here Hear Hartford, and other programs.

  • Keep Deaf and Hard of Hearing citizens updated on all related issues.
